Fruit Tree Trimming Workshop in Watertown, SD

Where: Watertown Regional Library in the Community Room

Time: 9:45 AM CT

Details: This free event features a hands-on workshop with Dr. John Ball, who will demonstrate proper fruit tree trimming techniques. Before the demonstration, Chris Goldade will lead a hands-on seed starting and backyard composting clinic.

Prescribed Fire Class in Lower Brule, SD

Where: Lower Brule Wildlife Office

Time: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CT

Details: This multi-partner fire school and training event is hosted by the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe in partnership with the River Breaks Prescribed Burn Association. The day will feature a morning classroom session for all landowners and managers interested in learning more about prescribed burning. The afternoon session will focus on skills, fire tools, safety, and equipment and will feature live fire training and participation in actual prescribed fire. Students can expect to receive instruction in all phases of prescribed burning through hands-on, instructor-led practices.


Free and open to all. River Breaks Prescribed Fire members and potential future members are especially encouraged to attend.
